Worst airports for delays and cancellations this summer

Summer is almost officially over, and that means the air travel rush (and hopefully chaos) of the season is about to ease. The Americans’ last big summer travel weekend ended on a relatively high note. The bank holiday weekend was down 0.6%, a significant drop from the summer average of 2.2% from Memorial Day weekend in late May through September 1, according to data from the FlightAware Flight Tracking Tool website.
Attribute that to a variety of factors, says FlightAware’s Kathleen Bangs, including mostly excellent weather in the US Airline pilot and FlightAware spokesperson. The strong performance came on a weekend when the number of passengers passing through U.S. Transportation Security Administration reviewed, exceeded 2019 passenger numbers in a weekend for the first time.
